2.5-3 years – Online Training Module
Children are now learning the concept of swimming and breathing, this makes them capable of independent water play under strict adult supervision.
Children of this age thrive on repetition and routine in the swimming lesson. Because their concentration span is limited, learn to swim activities need to be made fun and rewarding to maintain the child’s interest. During this stage children will begin to form friendships and even remember their friend’s names. Parents can encourage this interaction by practicing swimming skills with friends. Swim teachers can use swimming games and races to help motivate and engage children as they learn to swim.
The most important learn to swim objectives for this age group are to, improve the propulsive drive given from the arms and legs and teach the concept of independent swimming and breathing. By developing these swimming skills children can become quite independent in the water and capable of playing under strict adult supervision.
